Joke Visser About Joke Visser Joke Visser studied child psychology in Leiden, the Netherlands. After her studies, she worked as a policy maker with several (local and national) service providers for people with disabilities. Since 1998 she has worked as a consultant for self-organisations and service providers. She has a large national network. International experience 1979-1980 One year travelling and working in Canada, USA and Mexico 1981-1982 As a member of the Christian Movement for Peace (CMP) I attended several seminars on education, advocacy, etc. 1999 EASPD Conference in Dublin, Ireland. 2003 Visit to Kaunas, Lithuania. Co-organiser of a conference with parents, social workers and other professionals to make a list of problems and solutions for people with disabilities. Visits to institutions. 2004 Rehabilitation International Conference in Oslo, Norway 2005 Visit to Stockholm, Sweden, to learn more about Swedish policy. Visits to Sisus (support of students with disabilities in schools), Handikap Ombudsmannen and Independent Living. 2005 Visit to Riga, Latvia, with members of the Quasi project. Visits to several projects and initiatives. 2005 Visit to Rumania, to join a conference and to visit a project in Resita. The experience gained by these activities has been implemented in different projects and research in the Netherlands.
